A small earthquake with a magnitude of 2.2 struck the Ududumbara area this evening, the Seismic Data and Tsunami Center reported.

Officials from the Geological Survey and Mines Bureau confirmed that the tremor was not linked to recent floods or landslides. They added that minor tremors under magnitude 3.0 are relatively common in the central hill regions, especially near reservoirs.

The tremor occurred at 5:05 pm at a shallow depth. Authorities reassured the public that there is no danger associated with this minor seismic activity.
