Accordingly, he donated a ten-acre privately owned plot of land belonging to him, situated in the Siyambalapitiya area of the Galigamuwa Divisional Secretariat Division. The relevant deeds were handed over yesterday (07) afternoon at the Presidential Secretariat to the Secretary to the President, Dr Nandika Sanath Kumanayake.
The Secretary to the President stated that the Government has commenced a programme to construct new houses for people who lost their homes due to cyclone Ditwah, and that those willing to donate land may obtain the necessary information from the website; www.rebuildingsrilanka.gov.lk.
Officials of the Galigamuwa Divisional Secretariat were also present on the occasion.
