Addressing Parliament, the Minister stated that authorities have not yet received any confirmed information indicating that Sarah Jasmine is currently residing in India. However, he emphasized that investigations are continuing based on intelligence and preliminary information gathered in relation to the Easter Sunday attacks.
Minister Wijepala further noted that the Government has already taken several legal steps in connection with the investigations and will not hesitate to pursue further action if necessary.
“If required, we will move to obtain a warrant for the arrest of Sarah Jasmine,” the Minister said, reaffirming the Government’s commitment to ensuring justice for the victims of the attacks.
The 2019 Easter Sunday bombings, which targeted churches and hotels across the country, claimed over 260 lives and injured hundreds, remaining one of the deadliest terror attacks in Sri Lanka’s history.
