Sri Lanka’s official reserve assets held by the Central Bank increased to USD 6,825 million by the end of December 2025, according to the latest Central Bank data.

This represents a 13.1% increase compared to the USD 6,034 million recorded at the end of November 2025.

The main component of the reserves—foreign exchange reserves—also recorded notable growth. Foreign exchange reserves rose by 13.3%, increasing from USD 5,944 million at the end of November to USD 6,734 million by the end of December 2025.

The improvement reflects strengthened external sector conditions and enhanced reserve accumulation during the month.
