The National Building Research Organisation (NBRO) has issued a landslide early warning notice today (07), affecting two districts.

Accordingly, a red alert has been issued for the Kandy and Nuwara Eliya districts, advising residents in high-risk areas to evacuate immediately.

In the Kandy District, residents of the Ududumbara area have been instructed to move to safer locations. In the Nuwara Eliya District, people living in the Nildandahinna and Walapane areas have also been urged to evacuate due to the heightened risk of landslides.

Meanwhile, the NBRO has requested the public in certain areas of the Badulla, Matale, and Nuwara Eliya districts to remain vigilant and closely monitor landslide risks.

Residents in Kandaketiya (Badulla District), Wilgamuwa (Matale District), and Mathurata and Hanguranketha (Nuwara Eliya District) have been specifically advised to be alert and take necessary precautions.

The NBRO further urges the public to follow instructions issued by local authorities and disaster management officials to ensure safety
