The Cabinet has approved a resolution submitted by the President to finalize the draft bill for the National Lotteries Board (NLB), including the proposed amendments.
The NLB, originally established under the Finance Act No. 11 of 1963, is set to undergo legal updates to align with the current demands of the lottery market, nearly 62 years after the law was first enacted.
The Cabinet had initially approved the drafting of a new bill at its meeting on February 14, 2017, and the NLB subsequently recommended additional amendments to be incorporated into the draft prepared by the Legal Draftsmen.
