Five people have died in the Wennappuwa Marawila area after reportedly consuming a liquid suspected to be illegal alcohol. Three were found dead inside a house, while two others, who were critically ill, later died at Wennappuwa Hospital.
Marawila Police have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the deaths and the circumstances surrounding the incident.
