Former Minister Harin Fernando appeared before the Badulla Magistrate’s Court this morning (06) in connection with a case concerning an alleged violation of election laws during the last general election.
When the case was taken up, Badulla Magistrate Udith Gunathilaka ordered that it be called again on May 5.
Fernando was arrested on November 20 last year after arrived at the Badulla Headquarters Police Station to provide a statement regarding a procession allegedly held in violation of election laws in Badulla town on the final day of the general election campaign. He was subsequently produced before the court and released on personal bail of Rs. 500,000.
