As a pivotal component of this ongoing national rehabilitation drive, naval personnel contributed to a crucial Tri-Services task on 31 Dec 25. The joint effort successfully supported the repair of damaged steps in the Mahagiridamba area on the main route to the sacred Sri Pada summit.

With the Sri Pada pilgrimage season having commenced on 04 December, the urgent repair of this vital pathway was prioritized. The Sri Lanka Army initiated the transfer of necessary construction materials from Nallathanniya to the affected site at Mahagiridamba beginning 10 December. On instructions from the Ministry of Defence, more Tri-Services personnel were deployed to expedite the undertaking, for the convenience of devotees using this pathway.

Through coordinated efforts among Army, Navy and Air Force personnel, all required raw materials were successfully and expediently carried to the location as planned.
