The National Consumers’ Front has reported a sharp increase in coconut oil prices, stating that the cost of a bottle has risen by around Rs. 100 in the market over the past two weeks.
Chairman of the organisation, Asela Sampath, said the price of vegetable oil has also increased during the same period, placing an additional burden on consumers.
He noted that the recent price hikes have affected household expenses and urged the relevant authorities to closely monitor market prices and take steps to provide relief to consumers.
