Former Minister and Member of Parliament Rishad Bathiudeen appeared before the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption this morning (05) following a summons issued by the Commission.
The appearance is in connection with ongoing investigations into the procurement of a building on a rental basis in Rajagiriya to house the Ministry of Agriculture during the previous government.
Bathiudeen, who served as a Cabinet Minister at the time, was summoned to record a statement regarding the transaction and accordingly presented himself before the Bribery Commission this morning.
