Water supply has been suspended in several areas following a sudden rupture in the main water supply line from Ambathale to Dehiwala, the National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWSDB) announced.
Accordingly, water supply interruptions are in effect in Moratuwa, Rawathawatta, Zoysa Pura, Ratmalana, Mount Lavinia, Dehiwala, Wellawatte, Pamankada, Mulleriyawa, and Kolonnawa.
Meanwhile, water supply to the Battaramulla area will be maintained under low-pressure conditions.
The NWSDB stated that repair work is underway and water supply is expected to be fully restored before midnight today (03 January 2026).
The Board regretted the inconvenience caused to consumers.
