Sri Lanka Customs Narcotics Control Unit officers arrested a 35-year-old Indian national at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) after seizing Kush cannabis valued at Rs. 34.19 million, Customs officials said.

The suspect was apprehended upon arrival from Bangkok on SriLankan Airlines flight UL 403, which landed at the airport at around 11.00 a.m. on January 2.

During an inspection of his baggage, officers recovered 3,419 grams of Kush cannabis concealed inside.

Following the seizure, the suspect along with the recovered narcotics was handed over to the Police Narcotics Bureau for further investigations and legal action. Sri Lanka Customs said investigations are continuing to determine possible links to wider drug trafficking networks.
