The Sri Lanka Ayurveda Drugs Corporation (SLADC) has recorded its highest-ever commercial revenue, reaching LKR 1.66 billion in 2025, marking a major milestone in the institution’s history.

The announcement was made at the launch of seven new products developed by the Corporation, held on December 30 at the SLADC auditorium in Navinna under the patronage of Minister of Health and Mass Media, Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa.

The newly introduced products include medicinal oils such as Kubja Prasarani Thailaya, Bala Koranda Thailaya, Panchavalkala Choorna, and Sanstha Bone Marrow Ointment, along with herbal-based consumer products including Pinda Balm, Rath Hadun Body Wash, and Panchavalkala Shampoo.

Speaking at the event, Minister Jayatissa said that 2025 was a year focused on strengthening institutional foundations across ministries, departments, and state enterprises, particularly within the production sector. He noted that sustainable development can only be achieved by first building a strong economic base.

The Minister also highlighted that government revenue targets—both original and revised—were exceeded this year, while Sri Lanka also recorded its highest-ever tourist arrivals. He stressed that clear goals and strong foundations would enable the country to achieve further national successes.

Commending the SLADC’s performance, the Minister credited the Corporation’s stability and public trust to the collective efforts of its Chairperson, management, and 375-member workforce. He added that the Ayurveda sector is one in which the government must continue to invest, conduct research, and ensure that its benefits consistently reach the public, in line with the government’s vision of a “Healthy Sri Lanka.”

At present, the SLADC manufactures 194 products across approximately 450 production units, positioning itself as a pioneer in Ayurveda medicine production in Sri Lanka. For over 56 years, the Corporation has supplied Ayurveda medicines and herbal products to Ayurveda hospitals, dispensaries, physicians, and the general public island-wide, contributing significantly to the national healthcare service.

Several dignitaries, including local government representatives, senior officials from the Ministry of Health and Mass Media, Ayurveda commissioners, university faculty members, and industry stakeholders, were also present at the event.
