The UNP was represented by Deputy Leader Ruwan Wijewardena, Deputy Leader Akila Viraj Kariyawasam, and Vice Chairman Naveen Dissanayake. Leader of the Opposition and SJB Leader Sajith Premadasa participated in the discussions on behalf of the SJB.
It was reported that while the meeting was not a decisive political discussion, it was considered an important exchange, particularly in relation to matters concerning party members.
The discussions were held in a cordial atmosphere and continued for several hours. It is further reported that both parties have agreed to continue discussions in the future.
Meanwhile, UNP Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe is scheduled to be briefed on the outcome of the meeting tomorrow (31).
