A fire that broke out at a shop in the Kiribathgoda town has led to the temporary closure of the Colombo–Kandy main road.
Police have requested motorists traveling along the route to use alternative roads until the situation is brought under control.
According to reports, a fire erupted at two commercial establishments in Kiribathgoda this afternoon (30). Five fire engines have been deployed to extinguish the blaze, and firefighting operations are currently underway.
