Police have requested motorists traveling along the route to use alternative roads until the situation is brought under control.
According to reports, a fire erupted at two commercial establishments in Kiribathgoda this afternoon (30). Five fire engines have been deployed to extinguish the blaze, and firefighting operations are currently underway.
