In a further step towards modernising public sector services, the Ministry of Public Administration has introduced an online system for reserving its holiday bungalows and rest houses, making the service accessible to the public through a single digital platform.

The facility, launched today (29) at the Ministry Auditorium, allows users to make reservations via the official website of the Ministry of Public Administration, Provincial Councils and Local Government at www.pubad.gov.lk

, eliminating the need for physical visits and manual bookings.

Speaking at the launch, Minister of Public Administration, Provincial Councils and Local Government, Prof. Chandana Abeyratne, said the initiative reflects the government’s broader effort to streamline services using digital technology. He noted that enabling reservations through mobile phones would significantly improve convenience and transparency, while future upgrades would be introduced based on public feedback.

The Minister emphasised that strengthening digital operations within government institutions remains a priority, particularly in expanding people-focused services that reduce delays and administrative burdens.

Secretary to the Ministry, Mr. S. Alokabandara, and several senior ministry officials were also present at the event.
