Former Sri Lanka fast bowler Dhammika Prasad has been appointed as the bowling coach of the United States cricket team in preparation for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup. In addition to his role as bowling coach, Prasad will also serve as the team’s assistant coach.

As part of their build-up to the 2026 World Cup, the USA cricket team is scheduled to arrive in Sri Lanka on January 10. The team has planned to begin its World Cup training program in Sri Lanka, making use of local conditions and facilities.

The United States will kick off its World Cup campaign with its opening match against India on February 7, to be played at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Prasad’s appointment is expected to add valuable international experience to the USA coaching setup as the team looks to strengthen its performance on the global stage.
