Issuing a statement, PAFFREL said that unlike in previous years, census officers will not visit every household. Instead, officers will only visit residences relevant to updating the “A” and “Aa” lists, which include newly added and removed names.
According to PAFFREL, representatives of political parties will be allowed to observe the enumeration process. They will also be able to monitor the recommendations made by officials after collecting information, regarding whether an individual is eligible to be registered as a voter.
PAFFREL further noted that if any irregularities are observed, party representatives can inform the census officer in writing. A copy of such notification can also be immediately forwarded to the relevant District Deputy or Assistant Commissioner.
