The victim had sustained gunshot injuries to his right arm and abdomen during the attack. He succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.
According to police reports, two unidentified individuals arrived on a motorcycle, fired three shots using a pistol-type firearm, and fled the scene following the shooting.
Police had earlier revealed that the deceased was a close associate of a drug trafficker known as Avishka, who is currently overseas, and was allegedly responsible for handling the trafficker’s financial affairs.
Further investigations have uncovered that the shooting was allegedly carried out by a group linked to another drug trafficker known as Badovita Asanka. Police said the attack was planned under the instructions of Badovita Asanka and executed by an individual identified as “Sando.”
