The MKS Group of Companies in Melbourne has donated A$30,000 (approximately LKR 6.03 million) to the ‘Rebuilding Sri Lanka’ fund established by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, to support rebuilding and resettlement efforts for communities affected by floods and landslides caused by Cyclone Ditwah.

The donation was formally handed over to Consul General Pradeepa Saram at the Consulate General Office. The funds were presented by Group CEO of the MKS Group of Companies, Siva Navaneetharaja, together with Director of MKS Spices’n Things, P. Navaneetha Rajah.

The MKS Group is a well-established business conglomerate in Australia, best known for MKS Spices’n Things, a popular chain of grocery stores and fast-food outlets operating across greater Melbourne. The business primarily serves the Sri Lankan community as well as the wider multicultural population in Victoria.

Expressing her appreciation, Consul General Pradeepa Saram thanked the MKS Group for its timely and generous contribution. She noted that Sri Lankans, community organisations, well-wishers and Australians of Sri Lankan origin across Australia have made significant individual and collective contributions to the ‘Rebuilding Sri Lanka’ fund in support of ongoing disaster relief and recovery efforts.
