The National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWSDB) said that water supply services disrupted due to recent disasters have now been fully restored across the country.
NWSDB Chairman Engineer Chandana Bandara said a decision has been taken to replace all water meters damaged during the disaster with new ones free of charge.
Meanwhile, the Irrigation Department stated that immediate steps are being taken to repair damaged irrigation systems and ensure sufficient water supply for the upcoming cultivation season.
Director of the Hydrology and Disaster Management Unit, S. L. Suriyabandara, said restoration work is currently underway with the assistance of the tri-forces.
