Speaking at a media briefing held at the Nuwara Eliya District Secretariat, she stated that the road from Mahiyanganaya to Nuwara Eliya is now fully open for public transportation.
She further noted that the Nuwara Eliya–Colombo route via Giniginathhena and the Nuwara Eliya–Colombo route via Bagawanthalawa have also been reopened for vehicular movement.
In addition, the roads from Welimada to Bandarawela via Rendapola and from Udupussellawa are now accessible, she confirmed.
However, repair work is still underway on the Nuwara Eliya–Kandy main road at the Ramboda area, and it will take a few more days before that segment can be fully reopened, the District Secretary added.
