Multiple spells of showers are expected in the Northern, North-Central, Eastern and Uva provinces, as well as the Matale and Nuwara Eliya districts. Other parts of the country may experience showers or thundershowers after 1.00 p.m., with the possibility of fairly heavy rainfall exceeding 50 mm in areas of the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces, and the Galle and Matara districts.

Early morning misty conditions are likely in parts of the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central and Uva provinces.

Authorities urge the public to take necessary precautions to minimize risks associated with temporary strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
