Veteran Sri Lankan actor Nihal Fernando has passed away at the age of 71, leaving behind a remarkable legacy across stage drama, cinema, and television.

Fernando, who made his public debut in Simon Nawagathtegamage’s stage play Stree, went on to become a distinguished figure in the performing arts. He delivered powerful performances in a number of acclaimed theatrical productions, including Suba Saha Yasa, Sudu Saha Kalu, Ekadhipathi, Pandukabhaya, and Angara Ganga Gala Basi.
