Spill gates of Kalawewa opened as water levels rise

The Department of Irrigation announces that two spill gates of the Kalawewa Reservoir were opened by four feet each at 9:00 a.m. today (04) due to rising water levels.
Authorities urge residents living on both sides of the reservoir and in low-lying downstream areas to remain vigilant as increased water discharge may pose potential risks.
