The National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWSDB) has assured the public that the quality of drinking water remains completely unaffected despite the ongoing disaster situation across the country.
NWSDB Chairman Chandana Bandara stated that continuous monitoring and safety protocols have ensured that water supplied to households meets all required quality standards.
He further confirmed that uninterrupted water supply has been maintained in 13 out of the 22 disaster-affected districts, despite the severe challenges posed by floods and related disruptions.
According to the NWSDB, rapid response teams are on the ground to safeguard water purification systems, maintain supply lines, and prevent any contamination risks.
The board urged the public to remain confident in the safety of the national water supply while recovery and restoration efforts continue.
