Another former U.S. Coast Guard cutter has been transferred from Baltimore, Maryland, marking the fourth such vessel provided to Sri Lanka and further strengthening cooperation between the United States and the Sri Lanka Navy.

U.S. Ambassador to Sri Lanka Julie Chung, commenting on the transfer, noted the importance of maritime partnerships—especially as Sri Lanka continues response operations related to Cyclone Ditwah.

“As response efforts for Cyclone Ditwah are underway, including those via sea, we’re reminded how much strong maritime partnerships matter,” she said in a post on X.
