“Do the least you could do and declare a day of mourning for those who died and were affected by the recent disaster,” Premadasa told Parliament.
“We are bound by a divine duty to care for all those impacted by this calamity,” he added.
He also expressed gratitude to the countries that extended assistance to Sri Lanka during one of its darkest hours.
