SL Business Community in Maldives Donates USD 33,000 for Flood Relief

The Sri Lankan expatriate business community in the Maldives has stepped forward with a significant contribution to support ongoing disaster relief efforts in flood-affected areas back home. A donation of USD 33,000 was officially handed over to Sri Lanka’s High Commissioner in the Maldives, Rizvi Hassan, during a ceremony held in Malé.

High Commissioner Mr. Hassan expressed his heartfelt appreciation for the gesture, noting that the generous contribution will directly assist relief and recovery initiatives underway across Sri Lanka following the devastating floods that have impacted millions.

He emphasized that the support extended by Sri Lankans living abroad continues to play a crucial role in strengthening national resilience during times of crisis.

The expatriate business community stated that this donation reflects their solidarity with fellow citizens and their commitment to aiding the country during challenging times.
