A SLAF Bell-212 helicopter rescued three individuals stranded on the upper floor of a two-storey house in Mahawa (Ella), after severe flooding caused by the overflow of the Deduru Oya.
The operation, carried out by No. 4 Sqn - SLAF Base Ratmalana, safely airlifted all three despite adverse weather. SLAF rescue troops remain on standby for further emergency response.
