According to authorities, the road will be closed once more at the Ganethenna area, where the initial landslide occurred. Motorists have been advised to use alternative routes as previously instructed.
The earlier incident in the Pahala Kadugannawa–Ganethenna area involved a shop and a house being damaged when soil and rocks collapsed onto them. Following emergency clearance operations, one lane was temporarily opened for limited traffic. However, due to renewed instability in the area, officials have decided to shut the road again to ensure public safety.
