Additionally, the new road section at Kandapola-Kotlojhandiya on the Nuwara Eliya–Udapussellawa main road has been completely submerged, disrupting traffic in the area. The heavy rainfall has also adversely affected vegetable cultivation in low-lying farmland across the district.
Authorities have urged motorists and residents to exercise caution and stay updated with further advisories.
