A bilateral discussion between Minister of Ports and Civil Aviation Anura Karunathilaka and US Ambassador to Sri Lanka Julie Chung was held at the Ministry of Ports and Civil Aviation.
Deputy Minister Janitha Ruwan Kodituwakku and Ministry Secretary W.W.S. Mangala also took part in the meeting.
The US delegation, led by Ambassador Chung, focused on strengthening cooperation in the development of the Colombo Port. The talks also covered improving the efficiency of government digitalization initiatives.
Ambassador Chung commended the government’s ongoing efforts in drug-related crackdowns and expressed the United States’ willingness to provide naval assistance to support these operations.
Minister Karunathilaka conveyed his appreciation for the support extended by the US government and emphasized the importance of further strengthening diplomatic relations between the two countries.
