The global pageant, featuring contestants from 80 countries, will be held across several major Vietnamese cities from November 26 to December 20.
Kalani left Katunayake at 1:00 a.m. aboard Thai Airways flight TG-308 en route to Bangkok, where she will connect to Vietnam.
Athukorala, who will represent Sri Lanka on the international stage, is also a lecturer at the University of Colombo.
