The final report of an external investigation into allegations of sexual harassment involving a female employee of Parliament has concluded that no such incidents occurred.
The investigation was conducted by retired High Court Judge Ms. Sujatha Alahapperuma, who was appointed after the complainant expressed dissatisfaction with the outcome of an internal inquiry. The case was initially raised in Parliament on 7 January 2025 by Hon. MP Mujibur Rahman, who alleged that a female employee of the Department of Information Systems and Management had been subjected to sexual harassment.
Judge Alahapperuma summoned all relevant parties, reviewed evidence, and prepared the final report, which was handed over to Speaker Dr. Jagath Wickramaratne.
The report concluded that the complainant had not been subjected to sexual harassment and confirmed that no other female officers in the division had faced similar incidents.
