The Disaster Management Centre reports that the death toll from the ongoing adverse weather conditions has risen to 10, while four others have been injured in weather-related incidents.

A total of 1,790 individuals from 504 families have been affected, with two houses completely destroyed and 193 partially damaged. Sixteen people from five families are currently being housed in relief centers.

Authorities have issued further landslide warnings for seven districts as heavy rainfall continues. High-risk areas include parts of Badulla, Galle, Kalutara, Matara, Kandy, Kegalle, and Ratnapura, where Level 2 alerts have been declared. Several other regions across the country have been placed under Level 1 warnings, urging residents to remain vigilant due to the potential for landslides.

Residents in the hill country and other vulnerable areas have been advised to stay alert for early signs of landslides as unstable weather persists. A 24-hour landslide early-warning notice has been issued, effective from 2:30 p.m. today (24) until 2:30 p.m. tomorrow (25), due to the prevailing severe weather conditions.
