According to the NBRO, the alert will remain in effect from 2:30 p.m. today (23) until 2:30 p.m. tomorrow (24).
Accordingly, landslide warnings have been issued for several Divisional Secretariat divisions in the districts of Badulla, Colombo, Galle, Hambantota, Kalutara, Kandy, Kegalle, Kurunegala, Matale, Matara, Nuwara Eliya and Ratnapura.
The organisation urged residents in the affected areas to remain highly vigilant due to the increased risk of landslides amid prevailing heavy rainfall.
