The Department of Meteorology has issued an adverse weather advisory warning of heavy rains across several parts of the island. According to the advisory, heavy showers exceeding 100 mm are expected in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, and North-Western Provinces, as well as in the Mannar, Kandy, and Nuwara Eliya districts.
The Met Department further noted that strong winds and severe lightning could accompany the heavy rainfall. Authorities urge the public to take necessary precautions to minimize potential risks caused by these hazardous weather conditions.
