A tragic landslide near the Ganetenna Junction in Kadugannawa, along the Colombo–Kandy main road, has claimed one life while leaving several others trapped under the debris.
According to hospital sources, four injured individuals have been admitted to hospital, including three who were rescued from the site and taken to the Mawanella Hospital for treatment.
Emergency teams are continuing intensive search and rescue efforts to locate and free several more people feared to be trapped beneath the rubble. Authorities have urged motorists and residents to avoid the affected area as operations are still underway and conditions remain unstable.
