Public Security and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ananda Wijepala said that the Cabinet has approved a Rs. 7,000 allowance for police officers to cover uniforms and shoes.
Speaking during the parliamentary budget committee debate today (18), the Minister said the allowance will be provided next month, with Rs. 1,100 million allocated for 2025.
He said that the Cabinet has also decided to provide funds for officers’ sports shoes and clothing, with approval expected next week.
