The trade union action by the Government Medical Officers’ Association (GMOA) continues, after discussions with President Anura Kumara Dissanayake failed to yield a satisfactory resolution.
GMOA Secretary Dr. Prabath Sugathadasa told the Daily Mirror that while the President requested additional time to address the issues raised, no concrete solutions were offered.
As part of the ongoing action, doctors across hospitals islandwide have restricted key services from this morning, including issuing prescriptions for medicines to be purchased from external pharmacies and recommending laboratory tests at private facilities.
