Former Minister Keheliya Rambukwella, his son Ramith Rambukwella, his daughter Amali Nayanika Rambukwella, and their domestic aide, Nipuni Krishnajina, were indicted before the Colombo High Court today in connection with two corruption cases filed by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC).

The indictments were presented before High Court Judge Mohammed Mihal, who ordered that all four accused be released on bail following their court appearance.

The two cases have been scheduled for pre-trial conferences on January 12 and 14, as directed by the High Court.

Meanwhile, indictments were also served in an additional case filed against former Minister Rambukwella and his son Ramith Rambukwella. They, too, were released on bail. The pre-trial conference for this case has been fixed for January 20.

According to reports, the cases relate to the alleged unlawful acquisition of assets and property during Keheliya Rambukwella’s tenure as a government minister.
