Police have arrested a woman in connection with the fatal shooting of a man in Kotahena earlier this month.
The murder occurred on November 7 in 16th Lane, within the Kotahena Police Division. Following continued investigations by the Colombo District Crime Division, officers apprehended the suspect yesterday (16).
The arrested woman, a 32-year-old resident of Aduruppuveediya in Colombo 13, is alleged to have played a key role in facilitating the crime. Investigations revealed that she had been in contact with an overseas-based member of a criminal gang and had provided the assailants with both a vehicle and critical information regarding the victim’s daily route.
Police say the breakthrough came through further intelligence gathered during the ongoing inquiry.
The Colombo District Crime Division is continuing further investigations into the incident.
