The committee-stage debate of the Budget commenced today, following the successful completion of the second reading debate. The second reading of the 2026 Appropriation Bill was approved yesterday with a majority of 118 votes.
The committee-stage debate of the Budget will continue for 17 days starting today. Today's sessions will focus on discussions related to 25 expenditure heads, including those of the President and the Prime Minister’s Office.
