According to police, the injured include members of a single family and two neighbouring residents. The attack had reportedly been carried out by the shop owner’s son, who is believed to have been under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident.
Among the victims were two women. All injured individuals were admitted to the Kandy Teaching Hospital for treatment.
Police arrested the suspect following the incident, and he was produced before the Teldeniya Court today. He has been remanded until the 26th.
