The National Police Commission (NPC) has approved key changes in the Police Department’s senior leadership, appointing two Senior Deputy Inspectors General (Senior DIGs) to new roles.
Accordingly, Sanjeewa Dharmaratne has been appointed as the Senior DIG in charge of Administration.
The NPC has also decided to remove Lalith Pathinayake from the administration post and appoint him as the Senior DIG in charge of the Central Province.
The appointments are effective immediately, the Commission said.
