The 1990 Suwaseriya National Emergency Ambulance Service is preparing to introduce a special rapid-response system aimed at significantly reducing emergency arrival times.

According to the Suwaseriya Foundation’s new ten-year strategic plan, trained emergency officers will be dispatched on motorcycles immediately after an emergency call is received, particularly in instances where it may take additional time for an ambulance to reach the location. The initiative is expected to improve patient outcomes by enabling first responders to begin critical care without delay.

Minister of Health and Mass Media Nalinda Jayatissa said that the Suwaseriya ambulance fleet will also be expanded to 500 vehicles. He added that the service will undergo technological enhancements to ensure faster, more efficient emergency care with the integration of modern innovations.
