A ceremony was held this morning (14) at the Maradana Railway General Manager’s Office to hand over appointment letters to newly recruited train drivers and conductors
Deputy Minister Prasanna Gunasena issued appointment letters to 85 new drivers and six conductors, selected through an open competitive examination held to fill long-standing vacancies in the Sri Lanka Railways Department.
The Deputy Minister noted that recruitment delays had hindered operations, adding that the new government had approved a cabinet paper to expedite the filling of critical vacancies within the department.
Senior officials of Sri Lanka Railways, including General Manager Ravindra Pathmapriya, were present at the ceremony.
