A 38-year-old Sri Lankan national from Galle, who had arrived in Israel two months ago to work in the construction sector, was found murdered on Thursday night (13).
Israeli authorities have confirmed that the incident was a homicide committed by an individual of African origin.
Sri Lanka’s Ambassador to Israel, Nimal Bandara, said the case is currently under investigation by the Interpol branch of the Israeli Police. The victim had arrived in Israel under an employment arrangement facilitated by the Sri Lankan government.
